Lyla is 8 months old!! She is changing so much everyday! She loves to play hide and seek and screams with joy when she finds you. If she sees something she really wants (like daddy's computer or cell phone) she will launch herself towards it. She is growing and learning more everyday. Sometimes it feels like she was just born and other times it feels like she's always been here. She has brought so many blessings to our family! We love you Lyla!!

SWIMMING!!!! Italic We took Lyla swimming for the first time and she LOVED it!!! Even when we were putting her in her swim suit for the first time she was getting excited. The pool at the hotel was amazing and perfect for a first time swimmer. On one side of the pool the water was only 6 inches deep so she could stand and sit in it. She was splashing and trying to put her face in the water. Even when we took her into the deep end she was happy and kicking her legs like crazy. I hope she gets the Lindstrom swimming and the Ward(Duckworth) floating. It was so much fun. Grandpa Ward kept telling Lyla the swimming pool was at his house, hoping that telling her the pool was his she would like him better. :-) The only down side to swimming is that she didn't really like her bath's for a couple of days. I can't wait until we get to take her swimming again.

I have been working on these spring break posts and I broke them into section because so much fun stuff happened. My parents came up the second half of the week. They had a scary drive into town, but they were safe. It was great to see them. They both needed their hair cut and mom needed her hair colored (it had been about 3 months, so my dad was looking kinda shaggy). So making Lyla's grandparents beautiful was our first task. :-) By the time my parents got there Lyla was use to people getting all excited to see her. Grandpa Ward still thinks she doesn't like him, but she can sense his fear. ;-) It was nice to show more of Boise to my parents. We went to the Boise City History Museum and learned a lot about Idaho. (My mom thinks you must always check out the history sights when you visit a place. She always follows brown signs.) Lyla had fun for the most part, but was getting kind of tired. We sat her on this saddle and she loved it. We might have to do horse back riding lessons someday.
Grandma Ward brought up some AMAZING hair things that Auntie Meggie made for Lyla. They are perfect for all of her new outfits. Lyla also got really good at taking a nap anywhere. Which helped a lot with the time changes and the running all over town.
We had so much fun with Grandpa and Grandma Ward and we are excited to be moving closer to them and to be making lots of trips down to Utah this summer!
Spring Break was amazing!!! We all had so much fun. It was nice to be able to spend so much time together. Lyla is such a great car trip baby. As long as she has things to entertain her she is happy and content and sleeps pretty well. Lyla had so much fun with Grandpa and Grandma Lindstrom this past week. Grandma Lindstrom took us to the Zoo. The zoo didn't have many animals, but we are hoping that is just because it was still a little cold for them. Lyla couldn't really see the animals that were there except for the goats and sheep. She just kept staring at them. We also let her ride on a tiger. She was laughing and doing her cute scream. We are excited to visit the Zoo a lot this summer. Lyla likes being at Grandma Lindstrom's house for many reasons but the best reason is that whenever she enters a room everyone gets so excited and cheers for her. :-)
It was nice to have Grandma Lindstrom watch Lyla one of the mornings so Scott and I could go to the temple. Plus we got to go on a lunch date and spend some time just the two of us.
The week was really fun and we are looking forward to moving to Boise in less than 8 weeks. Thanks Mom and Dad Lindstrom for a fun week!!

For some reason Lyla like to "help" me when I am doing laundry. She tries to grab all of my nicely folded cloths and when she does get her hands on them they go straight to her mouth. Lyla is now 7 months old and is growing way too fast. She is making all sorts of new sounds and likes to talk as loud as she can. She is happy most of the time and loves to eat anything you give her. Even after she has already eaten if she sees you eating something she needs to eat it too. She is looking forward to seeing her grandparents (both sides) in two weeks. Scott and I are ready to get out of Moscow and all the snow!

SNOW!!!! It hasn't stopped snowing for about 2 weeks here and we are all ready for it to stop! We had playgroup today and we decided to walk because driving seems too dangerous. We got Lyla all bundled up and we went for a walk. She LOVED it! Here are some pictures!! We hope spring comes soon!!!

Life has been going well here at the Lindstrom house. School is going well for Scott. It's been keeping him busy. I think he will be happy when springbreak is here to have his law-review paper finished and to leave Moscow for a little bit. Lyla is growing so big. This last couple of days she has had a little bit of a cold, but is doing much better now. We are working on rolling from her back to her tummy. She has the other way down, but just can't figure out what to do with her arm so she can get back onto her tummy. When she is on her tummy to pulls both of her knees up and is showing signs of wanting to crawl. :-) She has been sleeping through the night for almost 3 weeks now and puts herself to sleep. She is now eating baby food and seems to like it. She had carrots all last week and this week she will be having squash. I really liked this picture above of her laying on her tummy. Work is going well my way. It's nice to get away and talk to grownups, but I miss being with my family at home. I am just glad that I get to be a full time mommy and that Lyla and Scott get some bonding time. We are so blessed that Scott and I can trade off watching Lyla. More pictures soon!! :-)
