The first half of June 2014

For the last two weeks Lyla has had a swimming class in the mornings.
I did a 'Mommy and Me' class with her last summer and I was nervous about her being okay with being in the water by herself. We went swimming a couple of days before her first class and she loved it.
She was really excited every morning to go to her class.
Her swim teacher was the same girl we had last summer and Lyla remembered her.

Before her first class....so excited!

Cute kids!

Her class only had 4 kids in it. They were training new life guards so she received lots of one on one time.

Travis took his morning nap during her class. He is such a great sleeper and will crash where ever we are.

Lyla loved her class. She will now go under the water, kick and swim with her arms.
She still has a lot of things to learn...so we signed her up for another round in two weeks.
We will probably go to the pool a lot over the next 2 weeks and practice.
Travis loves the water.  He kicks his legs and paddles with his arms.
He laughs the whole time and puts his own face in the water.
He also floats on his back.

This kid loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He will stop whatever he is doing to watch it.

Popsicles under the shade of our unbrella.

Our garden is all planted!
We have lettuces, broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, green peppers, red peppers, peas, cucumbers, cantaloupe, corn and strawberries.

Travis still loves his swing.
I love his crazy hair.
It is always standing straight up.

My yellow roses bloomed.

Both of the kids love being outside!
We are loving the summer!

Lindstrom Family Reunion 2014
'There's no place like the Lindstom cabin'

Grandma and Papa Lindstrom
They always plan such fun things for us to do.
Lyla likes all of the little surprises they give her.

Uncle Matt, Aunt Chelle, James and Lizzie
Lyla calls them her 'cabin cousins' because she only sees them once a year at the cabin.
We love getting to see them and staying up all night talking.

Us in front of Alturas Lake

Jason and Jill
We are so excited for these two to get married this September.
They are so cute together.

Uncle Houston and Aunt Lindsey
Lindsey had so many fun little games to play with the kids.
It was nice having a nanny for a couple of days.
Lyla loves these two!

Friday morning we went to the hot springs close by.
Our little pool we had blocked off was gone and so we had to start over.

The Grandkids!
It always takes a little bit for the kids to remember they like the water.

Travis liked the water, but he fell asleep in my arms.

Lyla likes to find sticks and throw rocks at the springs.

Travis liked sitting on Grandma's lap.

Hanging out with Papa.

Going on a walk to find treasures by the ponds.
They mostly found pine cones and rocks, but James found a little egg.

So beautiful!

Little dude with Papa's hat.

Resting on the hammock.

'Helping' Grandma cut watermelon for dinner.

Hanging around the camp fire and roasting marshmallows.

Lyla wanted to make a s'more, but didn't want to eat it.
So I had her take one bite.

She didn't like it.

Swimming in the pool.

Having fun swimming with the cousins.

Brothers!

Fishing fun!

Sweet girls holding hands in their matching dresses.

Cousins!

Aunt Lindsey is the best!

Glow in the dark bowling is so much fun.
Thanks Aunt Lindsey.

Squirt gun fight

Papa is so good and helping Lyla catch a fish.
She wouldn't touch it.

My cute little family!

We had so much fun at the reunion.
Can't wait for next year to see everyone again.
A couple of days after the reunion Lyla woke up in the middle of the night crying and saying,
"This isn't my house anymore.  I live in the deep back woods in the cabin."
It took a while for me to calm her down and reassure her that we would be going back to the cabin soon.
I love all of these memories we are making with our family.
