Lindstrom Family Reunion 2015

We always have so much fun at the cabin.
We were all glad Trav was feeling well enough to go.
I spent most of the time following him around keeping him from falling.
Lyla always has a great time with her Cabin Cousins.

4-wheeling with Papa

Going on adventures with Daddy.

These two had so much fun playing with dolls and animals.

We all love the hot springs.

The kids were excited about the boat.

It took Lyla and her Daddy a while, but they caught one.

Princess fishing pole.

So excited to go out on the boat.

Love that face. He has so much fun throwing rocks in the water.

The kids liked walking  around the cabin.
Grandma got the kids matching Lindstrom Fish shirts.
They looked so cute!

New horses from Grandma.
Lyla loved riding her horse all about the cabin.
She named him Twilight.

Co-champions of the horse shoe tournament.

Grandma teaching Lyla how to play horseshoes.

Making ice cream.

Surprise baby shower for Lindsey and Jill.

Cute girls in their matching watermelon outfits.
Lyla loves the hat has been wearing it since.

It doesn't look like it, but Trav had fun following James around.

I love this picture.

June 2015

This month started out terribly.
While I was getting ready for the Relief Society Mother/Daughter Activity
at the church, Travis fell from the stage onto the gym floor.
He just walked off the stage without ever seeing the edge.
He started crying when I picked him up and soon after passed out.
I had this over whelming feeling that I needed to take him to the ER right then.
I had him in the car and at the hospital in less than 5 minutes after his fall.
They started taking vitals and getting him prepared to have a CT scan.
Scott gave him a blessing when he got to the hospital.
Before the CT scan was finished they were talking to us about getting him to Primary Children's Hospital. Travis and I were soon on a helicopter.
When we got to PC they did another CT scan and saw that the blood had stopped, but there was enough in there pressing against his brain that they needed to get inside to remove it.
Waiting for him to get out of surgery was the worse part.
Scott and Lyla showed up before he was out of surgery.

This is what he looked like when we first saw him.

It is so sad to see your little guy so helpless and sad.
The surgery went well. Because the blood had stopped and had already started clotting his brain was looking good. They were able to close up his head right away.
We spent the first night in the ICU. The nurse and I spent the night trying to keep him calm and still.

The next morning he had another CT scan and everything was looking better. His neck was fine so they took off his neck brace and took out his drain tube.

They had plenty of toys to entertain him and Mickey Mouse on his TV.
Lyla got to see him and he was really excited to see her.
We were moved out of the ICU.

The next couple of days were filled with tests, head aches and mood swings.
He was having a hard time keeping anything in his tummy.

Going on walks.

Taking naps.

Thursday morning his right eye swelled shut from his head draining.
That is when I lost it and couldn't hold back the tears and the worry.
I just prayed that the other eye wouldn't close up and it never did.
He was just so miserable and sad.

The swelling was almost gone by the next day.

He spent his nights being poked and bugged by his wonderful nurses,
holding Mommy's hand and watching Mickey Mouse...

Lyla had an interesting few days hanging out with Grandma and Papa Ward, Aunt Sara, Uncle Logan, Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Houston. She had fun riding TRAX, going to parks, watching movies, eating treats and stay up late. Thank you to all who help with Lyla! You are amazing!

Big nasty scar. I finally counted the stitches...around 70.

View from the hospital of SLC.

We finally got some Buddy smiles!!!!!

On Friday they had to sedate him to give him a hearing test.
He had some fluid behind his ear, but it wasn't effecting his hearing.
By Saturday he was ready to get out of the hospital and go home.
He was given some rules to go home....no running and don't bump your head for 3 months.
No running? This kid went from sitting to running.
He has a couple of check ups over the next month or two, but he was ready to go home.
Just 5 days after his fall.

Uncle Tyler bought him a new shirt to go home in because they cut off the other one.
The ride home was tough on his little head and he was pretty worn out when we got home.

I feel so blessed that my Buddy is doing so well.
It is a miracle.
The prayers and good thoughts being sent our way were felt and much appreciated.
I believe the Holy Ghost prompted me to take him to the ER so quickly and also helped me feel calm.
I believe that the Priesthood blessing he received stopped the bleeding and more damage to his brain.
I am grateful to have the Priesthood in my life.
After his blessing I felt an overwhelming feeling that everything would be fine.
That feeling has helped me multiple times a day over this last month.
I know that Heavenly Father hears my prayers and is mindful of me.

The rest of June...

Lots of naps and rest for Buddy.

Finally washing his hair.

Going on a walk. He went outside for the first time in 2 weeks.

Our first yellow rose.

Lyla and the neighbor dog Libby.

Yummy Popsicle's. We had a couple of really nice neighbors bring the kids treats.

Daddy and Lyla had a camp out in the backyard.

We finally framed and put up Scott's diplomas.

Watching Star Wars.
They are both really excited to see the new movie in December.

So cute!!

Our first cherry!

Buddy loves the apple tree.

New skirt for Lyla.

Swim lessons! Lyla is doing so well and learning so much.
We signed her up for another two weeks of lessons.

Her eyes kinda freaked out from the chlorine for the first few days.

Just give him a box of cereal so I can get some things done around the house.

We went to the park one morning really early to make sure we had shade and that we would have the whole park to ourselves. Both kids had so much fun.

The kids and I walked to the pool one day and swam all afternoon.
Both were out cold by the time we got home.

I love this laugh!

Handsome boy going to church for the 1st time in a month.

This kids loves being naked!
