Labor Day Weekend

Friday Lyla wanted to swim,
but I didn't feel like getting in a swim suit and going to the pool.
So we stayed home and played in the backyard.

When Daddy got home we hung out in the backyard some more.
(Our huge DEAD tree we will be taking down this fall in the back ground)

Lyla loves her swing set!

Saturday morning we started painting Baby Travis' room!
Lyla was really excited and wanted to paint it yellow.

Scott finally got himself a BYU flag! (Later this day he wanted to burn it.)
Lyla has been practicing the BYU fight song.

Eating pizza while we watch the game.

We decided to go visit Gry-a and Papa Lindstrom in Boise after church on Sunday.
We always have so much fun with them.
Lyla's Uncle Houston and Aunt Lindsay (they are getting married this winter)
were visiting also. Lyla enjoyed jumping on the tramp with them and making silly pig noises.

Monday morning we went to the zoo with Gry-a and Papa Lindstrom.

Us in front of the T-Rex.

Lyla LOVES the goats and she really like this guys beard and kept petting it.

Lyla loved all of the flowers and butterflies in this exhibit.

Riding on the little tiger.

So cute!!!

Lyla couldn't wait to see the giraffe's!
That is all she wanted to see the whole time.

Visiting Gry-a and Papa Lindstrom is always so much fun.
Lyla loves reading books with them and finding toads in the backyard.

We had a great weekend!

 Day 4

Aunt Sara got married this day.
I feel really bad because I didn't actually get any pictures with her on this day.
But I am sure the photographer did and I will post them when I get my hands on them.

Lyla kept telling everyone that her Aunt Sara was getting married in Heavenly Father's house.

Lyla and her Daddy!

Lyla and I!

Lyla and her Papa Ward!

How cute is that?!?!

Lyla and Baby Molly.
Look at how cute they are.
My Mom made their matching dresses.

Us in front of the San Diego Temple.

The trip was great!
So glad we could take Lyla to the ocean and see Sara and Logan get married.

Day 3

Our hotel in San Diego was right by the Bay.
We had fun walking and seeing all the boats and ships.

The three of us!

Uncle Tyler, Aunt Jen and Baby Molly and us.
Some of the Navy ships that came by us where huge and moving pretty fast.

We went on the tour of the USS Midway.
It was huge! It was really neat to see the planes on the top and to go down inside.

There were tons of cool old planes.
We did the listening tour and learned alot.

Lyla and I on the top where the planes land and take off.

Lyla wanted to "fly" all of the planes.
She had a lot of fun, but by the end she was done walking around
and I think her Dad was tired of carrying her.

This is a big statue on the shore by the Midway.

Later after lunch we went to
La Jolla beach.
Lyla couldn't wait to dig in the sand.

She was a little nervous about the water at first, but then she started to love it.
Her face is priceless.

Lyla and I in the water.
We got hit with a really big wave right before this picture.

Papa had to grab her fast to save her from this huge wave.
She thought it was really fun.

I love this picture.
To see her in the ocean and on the beach was worth the long drive.

I love these two!
They both could live on the ocean for the rest of their lives.
The joy on both of their faces is awesome!

Building sandcastles!
She was decorating them with the shells she found.

Day three was a great day!
I need to get these two to the beach again soon!

Day 1 of our trip!

We left Wednesday afternoon and drove to Las Vegas.

Lyla did really well in the car.
She watched movies, played with her Tinkerbell fairies and took naps.
(Isn't she so cute?!)

Wednesday night we stayed at
Circus Circus and Lyla had so much fun
pretending to play games.

Lyla loved sleeping in her own queen sized bed.

Day 2

We woke up early to drive the rest of the way to San Diego.
We decided to spend most of Thursday in Scott's mission driving around seeing things from his mission.  I love seeing places from his mission and hearing all of Scott's stories.

This is our favorite beach from Scott's mission.
We couldn't wait to take Lyla to the ocean.
She has been talking about the sand and the sea shells for weeks.

Lyla and I at the end of the pier waiting for our lunch.

Lyla and her Daddy sitting on the rocks.

Finding sea shells!

She is so happy!  She could have stayed on the beach forever!

Lyla's family Birthday Party!

Lyla was so excited that her Gry-a and Pa Pa were coming to her house for her party!

She was also really excited that her cousin D' could make it to the party.
Thanks to Grammy Gordon for bringing him.

Lyla couldn't wait for Pa Pa Ward to get in her pool!

Daddy helping Lyla open presents!

Mommy helping Lyla open even more present!

Lyla received so many presents!
Gry-a and Pa Pa Ward gave her a beautiful Tinker Bell story book
and a Tinker Bell comforter for her new bed.
Gry-a and Pa Pa Lindstrom gave her a barbie sized Tinker Bell and 3 of her friends
and a fun Tinker Bell water toy.
Aunt Meggie and D' gave her a tea set that she loves.
Lyla loves to dig so her Daddy made her a sandbox.
She is one lucky girl.

Everyone singing 'Happy Birthday'

Blowing out her candle!

We are so glad Gry- and Pa Pa Lindstrom could come!

So glad D' made it to the party!

Hope Gry-a and Pa Pa Ward had fun at the party
and we are glad they could sleep over.
