Lyla and I walked our 1st 5K. Well, Lyla was in the stroller and ate treats the whole time, but it was her 1st one. We went to the Boise Women Celebration! Grandma Lindstrom took us and we always have so much fun doing girl things together. We had so much fun! It was amazing to see all of those women and children walking and running. There were some crazy outfit and I think we decided to do something crazy for next year!

My Lyla is so cute! We went to the park to take some cute pictures of her. We got a lot...so I only put on a few of them. For the most part she likes getting her picture taken. I love her hair and her big eyes!!! You can finally see her 5 little teeth. I wish she would be brave a walk. She is so close!! I LOVE being her Mom!!!

The BEST part of the day is bath time!!! Lyla has so much fun in the tub! She is so silly. She likes to eat the bubbles, play with bath toys, dump water over her own head and splash like crazy.

The rest of August was really fun! We went to the Western Idaho Fair with Daddy. We had lots of fun looking at all the animals and weird people. It was really warm out so we got some cool treats to share. I think Lyla's favorite is the Elephant Ear (which is a HUGE scone with cinnamon and sugar on it). They are my favorite!!!
Our little tomato
Lyla didn't like how close the
goats and sheep got to her.

One afternoon I needed to get my walk in for the day so Lyla and I went to Zoo Boise. It's not a very big zoo, but it's still fun. We walked all around the park and looked at all the animals. It's really hard for Lyla to see the animals unless they are moving. Then she freaks out, points and makes noises. It's pretty funny.

Baby tiger!
Lyla and a Komodo Dragon!

Also in August Lyla got her first bang trim. Her bangs were driving me crazy and I had to keep pulling them back. So I sat her in her chair and gave her treats and attacked her bangs.
Before...
After!!!

Lyla got a dress from her Great-Grandma Lindstrom and she LOVES it!! It's frilly, purple, pink and has butterflies on it. It's perfect!! Lyla likes to play with the top layer and put it over her face and look through it. We love this dress!!!

August was a really fun month!!!

We LOVE being outside. The last couple of weeks we have been spending as much time outside as possible. It's starting to cool down a little in the mornings and at night. We have LOVED our 1st summer in Boise! We went camping with Scott's parents and Uncle Jason a couple of weeks ago. We went just outside Idaho City to a camp ground called Black Rock. It was perfect! I haven't been camping in a really long time and I was kinda nervous about Lyla but she did great!!! Scott's parents had everything for us. It was so much fun!!
Lyla didn't really like the water too much. Too cold. She really didn't like it when Daddy and Uncle Jason got all the way into the water.
I also got to fish for the 1st time!! It was lots of fun, but I didn't want to put the worm on the hook so Scott did it for me. I even caught a little guy! I am surprised that Dad Lindstrom didn't make me clean my fish. He probably will next time.
Lyla LOVES her Grandpa Lindstrom! She kept giving him loves and kisses.
Hanging out on the hammock with Daddy. The camping trip was so much fun!!! Thanks Mom and Dad Lindstrom!!!

Lyla and I love parks!! We go to one almost everyday. An entrance to the Boise Greenbelt is about 2 blocks from our house. We have to wait for Daddy to come with us (cuz there are scary people) to walk to Veterans Memorial Park. Pretty walk and not too far! She is starting to be brave and try new things without help.

Trying to get Mommy.

Lyla likes to crawl in the tube toys at parks.

See Daddy on the otherside?
How cute is she?!?!?

We decided to try out Quinn's Pond two blocks from our house on the Greenbelt. It was so much fun. We went out the night before and got a raft and a built in life jacket swim suit for Lyla! Scott even made us a paddle with a broom stick and a dust pan. ;-) We went early to beat the heat and all the crazy people.
Lyla and Mommy!
Daddy jumped in the water. He said it was nice and warm.
Lyla freaked out when he went in.
Lyla testing out the water.
She couldn't decided if she liked it or not.
Lyla and Daddy. So crazy to think we can walk two blocks and be on a pond.
It felt like we were in the mountains far away from the city. BOISE IS SO COOL!!!

Okay last birthday post!! Lyla's birthday cake was made by her Grandma Lindstrom. It was amazing and so tasty. She liked it when everyone was singing to her. She was smiling and looking around at everyone. She was a little hesitant at first, after a while she attacked it! We had a little allergic reaction after she was finished eating, but she got in the pool and tub and it went away. She got frosting everywhere. It took forever to get it out of her hair. Birthday parties are the BEST!!!

Liking presents is one of the things Lyla got from me. Her pile of presents was huge!! Her eyes got so big when we went over to open them. She started crawling around the presents and pulling on them. She is so blessed to have such amazing Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles!! She got lots of cute cloths, a walker toy, a tent and a cute table and chairs.
