 5 Years

It's crazy to think that Scott and I have been married for five years! Time has just flown by! A lot has changed for us. Scott gradated from BYU. I graduated from Bon Losse. We moved to Moscow so Scott could go to law school at the University of Idaho. Added Lyla to our family just after our 3rd anniversary. Moved to Boise so Scott could finish up his last year of school. Scott graduated this last May. Next week Lyla will be 2 (Crazy!!!) and we are moving to Burley, ID for Scott's new job!

These last five years have been the BEST of my life! A little about our first date....We had gone to a BYU basketball game with all of Scott's roommates (pretty sure we won). After the game everyone had something to do except Scott and I so he asked me if I wanted to get something to eat. We ended up going to Carrabba's (which is a really nice Italian restaurant...in our BYU gear...didn't really dress up for that date). It was the best date of my life...I am not just saying that...it really was. We had so much fun talking and getting to know each other better.  I don't remember everything we talked about, but I do remember asking him at one point when we were going to get married. :-) I know...a little forward, but I think he thought I was joking. Scott and I got married 6 months later!!!

This is a picture someone took of us right after Scott had proposed to me in front of the Timpanogos Temple. He took me on this crazy scavenger hunt and told me it was a school project from one of his friends (He was at BYU...you never know what kind of crazy classes these people are taking).

I was so surprised! I didn't even say yes at first. I just hugged him.

Our wedding day came and went really fast! It was a perfect day! I had a reception in Utah in my parents beautiful backyard and one in Boise in the church Scott grew up going to, which was also very beautiful (picture below).

We went to the Oregon Coast for our honeymoon and had so much fun! I love the water and all the lighthouses. Hope we get to go back a visit soon!

Gordon Family Weekend!

Megan and her family came to visit us in Boise on their way to Oregon.
Lyla loves her cousin D. She says his name all the time and wants to follow him around everywhere.
Megan and Andrew have a new little foster boy named Kaysen.
He is almost 3 and Lyla loves being with him also.

Lyla loves going on adventures with the boys.

I love this picture. Lyla loves holding hands with the boys. We kept telling them they had to hold hands while they crossed the street and so they decided to hold each others hands. I love these three!!!
D' will be 5 on August 1st, Lyla will be 2 on July 28th and Kaysen will be 3 on August 25th.

We took a little trip to Ann Morris park to feed the ducks and play in the water. We got on the bridge to feed the ducks because we didn't want to get attacked!

D' ran straight to the water and jumped in. Kaysen hesitated for a little bit. Lyla touched the water with her hands...maybe.

We also went to Sandy Point at Lucky Peak and had so much fun!
We took out our inflatable boat and the kids loved it. They also liked having a cool treat and eating lunch there. Lyla played with the sand toys the whole time. She just kept filling up the buckets with sand and dumping them out. It took Kaysen a while to like the water, but he seemed to have fun. He didn't like getting sand on his hands. (That's what he is showing me in the picture just below)
D' had fun doing everything. This kid loves EVERYTHING! His favorite Aunt got him a squirt gun and he couldn't wait to squirt everyone and everything. Lyla also got new goggles and had to wear them even though she never got her face in the water. She just had to be like the boys. We had so much fun. When we got home we all crashed and slept forever. It was a fun day.

Lyla had so much fun playing at all the parks with her Aunt Meggie. In the span of a little over 2 days we went to 3 different parks and the beach. Busy busy days.

Lyla loved eating breakfast with the boys. She was entertained by them so much she didn't eat as much as she usually does. She wanted to get down and play with them.
Lyla is now walking around the house saying, "D" looking for him.
We are excited that they will be coming back through town next Saturday on their way back to UTAH.

 Silly Lyla

My kid is so silly. I don't know what got into her, but she was being so crazy. (Must have been the salmon we had for dinner) ;-) She got into my sock drawer and had to put socks on all of us. These rainbow socks are her favorite. Her toes don't fit in them yet, but they will soon. She is no longer a baby...she's a kid. She weighs 30 pounds and is 3 feet 1 inch tall. She only has two more feet to grow before she is taller than me.
At this rate she will be taller than me before she is 5 years old. :-(
She liked leaning back on the pillows and having a little snack before bed. I got my camera out and she started saying 'cheese' so I'd take a picture and then she'd say 'more'.  I took about 40 pictures and these are the best four.

We let her stay up a little bit later because she was so happy and fun.
I love this girl!!!

 Summer fun!

We are having a great summer in Boise this year.  Well, Lyla and I are...Scott is busy studying for the bar.
Lyla and I are trying to have as much fun as possible.

Climbing on the rocks at our favorite park.

Lyla decided her french fries tasted better dipped in her ice cream.

Playing with markers! (She had to wear her headband.)
She had marker all over, but with the help of a quick shower she was all clean.
She loves to hang her pictures up on the fridge.

What happen to my cute little girl?  She has turned into a fit throwing monster.
But I still love her. Time out is my best friend. :-)

Lyla loves shoes! But she really likes to put on Daddy's shoes.

Lyla and I went to The LORAX movie at a dollar theater. I figured that if she freaked out we could leave and I wouldn't be out of $20. She was AMAZING!!  She loved the movie. She sat in her seat the whole time. She laughed, screamed and danced.
At the end of the movie she got out of her seat and started dancing.

All of this fun makes for really long naps.

 Cupcakes!

Tonight Lyla and I made cupcakes. The best kind of cupcakes...yellow cake with chocolate frosting.
She had so much fun standing on the step stool helping me.

Watching the mix master stir the cake.

She helped me pour the batter in the tins.

She took a bath while we waited for them to cook.

She helped me frost them. She pretty much licked her fingers the whole time.

Crying because I was taking too long to give her a cupcake.

She didn't even try to eat her cupcake. She just stuck her fingers in the frosting and wiped it on the table.

She ended up eating a gram cracker and watching Sponge Bob.

Lyla and I had so much fun baking tonight. I love this girl!!

Memorial Weekend

Cabin Fun...
We went to Lyla's Lindstrom Grandparents cabin Friday and had so much fun.
We love being there and going on adventures.
(Plus camping and being able to use a flushing toilet is the best!)

Here is a little bit about how much fun we had.  Lyla is good in the car for the most part as long as she has toys and treats. She was having so much fun with her puzzle and then took a nap. Scott and I took a walk in the trees and meadow close by. Lyla loves to follow her Grandpa Lindstrom around and 'help' him. Lyla loved this big bear at the cabin and was wrestling it. Lyla taking a nap with her Daddy. Eating breakfast! Going on a Hike with her Daddy. Lyla had to have a walking stick just like Scott. Holding hands with her Grandparents.  WE LOVE THE CABIN!  We can't wait until this summer when we get to spend time there with the cousins and Aunt and Uncles.

Today we took our little BBQ to the park and had hamburgers. We rode our bikes over and forgot a few things so Scott had to ride back and get them. It was quite an adventure, but lots of fun.

Have you ever seen a kid who loves tomatoes this much?

I love this little girl!!!
